Just over a year ago, Yahoo and Microsoft signed an agreement to combine forces in an attempt to hold back the tide of Google, which then had to work its way through the US legal system.
Well its now actually happened – Microsoft’s Bing search engine is delivering the results for Yahoo Search.
The implementation is currently only live in the US and Canada for searches in English, but according to Microsoft, there are “other languages to come in the weeks and months ahead”.
The Yahoo Search user interface itself is apparently largely unchanged.
The original agreement also involved Yahoo’s Pay-per-Click advertisers being migrated to Microsoft’s equivalent advertising platform – adCenter. This migration is expected to be completed later this year.
