Most people are familiar with email autoresponders – you enter a form on a website or make an online purchase and you receive an automated email almost immediately.
But few people realise you can achieve something similar with Twitter, so that when someone new follows you, an autoresponder sends a Direct Message (DM) to them in reply.
As with email, this has the immediate benefit of connecting with your new follower, and can be used to send links to products, websites or blogs as well as saying Thank You.
Setting up a Twitter autoresponder is straight-forward :-
1. Sign up for a free account with Socialoomph
2. Within Social Accounts, add your Twitter account and register/authenticate your Twitter user name and password
3. In the auto welcome box, select ‘Automatically send a welcome message to new followers’, and enter your welcome message in the ‘Send this message’ text box.
4. Save it, and your autoresponder is now live!
There is an option to delay the autoresponder message to give time to vet followers . You can also set up multiple messages which will be rotated.
